Visme Review: Elevate Your Presentations and Designs
At Blogging Wizard, we’ve experimented with various tools for crafting infographics, compelling presentations, and other visual elements for our content. Among the range of services we’ve tested, Visme has emerged as our preferred graphic design tool.
Visme stands out because it caters to both professional graphic designers and individuals lacking design skills or experience. Remarkably, even non-designers can utilize Visme to produce visually appealing assets they can take pride in.
Furthermore, Visme offers more than just simple social media graphics. It provides the capability to create branded charts and graphs, which can be seamlessly integrated into data-driven articles, thereby enhancing the potential for earning backlinks.
In this comprehensive Visme review, we’ll delve into everything you need to know about this graphic design tool, covering its features and pricing details. Let’s get started.
What is Visme?
Visme stands out as an online design tool, offering distinct features that position it as a compelling alternative to professional graphic design software such as Adobe Photoshop. Its user-friendly drag-and-drop interface makes it particularly appealing to content creators and small business owners.
What sets Visme apart is its ability to do more than just create static images. Users can animate presentations, graphs, and charts, adding a dynamic element to their content. This feature is particularly valuable for creating eye-catching lead magnets to grow email lists. Additionally, custom graphs and charts have the potential to attract more links to your content, thereby enhancing your link building efforts.
Visme Features and Interface
When you log into Visme, you’re greeted with a straightforward dashboard. To begin creating infographics or other graphic projects, simply click “Create New Project” on the main dashboard. Alternatively, you can also start a new project by clicking “Create New” from the sidebar.
1. Selecting a Template
When you start a new project on Visme, you’ll see a variety of image options to choose from. These include presentations, infographics, charts, social media graphics, and videos. If you’re not sure which one to pick, you can use the search bar to find exactly what you need.
Once you’ve selected a type of image, you’ll see a bunch of templates to help you get started. For example, if you choose Presentations, you’ll see different presentation templates sorted by industry or purpose.
You can also choose to start from scratch or create a custom-sized canvas. If you go for the custom option, you can specify the width and height in pixels, inches, or centimeters. Or you can pick from a list of common sizes.
But for simplicity, let’s stick to using one of Visme’s templates.
When you click on a template, you’ll see more details about its design, including how it looks in different aspect ratios. Once you’re happy with your choice, just click “Use This Template” to get started.
2. Customizing your graphics
Now, let’s talk about Visme’s graphic designer tool, the star of the show! This is where you can customize each template to make it uniquely yours. You can edit text, add elements, diagrams, change colors, and much more.
There are lots of design options available, so it’s fun to explore what you can do. But let’s go over the main features of the design tool.
When you hover over different design elements, Visme will show you which ones you can edit. For example, clicking on text lets you change the content, while clicking on a graph or chart allows you to edit values and colors.
You don’t have to manually enter your data either. You can import it from Google Sheets, Excel, Google Analytics, or SurveyMonkey. Plus, you can adjust settings like headings, legends, and appearance. Deleting an element is easy – just select it and hit delete. You can also resize elements as needed.
Above the template, you’ll find additional design options. These vary depending on what element you’re working with. For instance, if you click on the background, you can change its color, apply filters, or adjust the canvas size. If you select other elements like charts or text, you’ll see different options, including the ability to animate them.
3. Animating an element
If you want to add animation to an element, just click the “Animate” button. This will open up a list of different animation effects you can choose from. Now, the animation panel might seem a bit overwhelming at first, but don’t worry! Once you get used to it, you’ll be able to create animated infographics and other cool visuals in no time.
You can animate the whole page or just a specific element you’ve selected. Animations can be simple, like fading in, or more complex, with elements flying in from different directions. There are lots of options to explore in the sidebar.
Below the page, there’s a timeline where you can adjust the animation speed. You can switch between Basic and Advanced modes to simplify or expand the timeline. And don’t forget about the interactive features above the page or image you’re editing. Here, you’ll find alignment options, effects, and actions to enhance your design.
4. Inserting new elements
In the sidebar, you’ll find all the customization options you need to bring your designs to life. With these options, even complex ideas can be turned into reality.
Let’s start with Basics. Here, you’ll find everything you need to update your design: headers, text, font pairs (text with different font types), stats, figures, graphics, diagrams, photo grids, and calls to action. You’ll also find a section called My Blocks where you can access previously saved content blocks.
Graphics is where you go to insert lines, shapes, icons, and 3D graphics. You’ll also find animated resources like icons, illustrations, characters, and avatars here. Photos contains free-to-use stock images and lets you upload photos from your computer.
If you need graphics that support numbers and figures, head to Data. Here, you’ll find assets like charts, diagrams, tables, maps, and data widgets to help you convey information more effectively. In Media, you can insert videos, embed online content, or add audio files to your presentation. You can use stock videos or upload your own, and even record audio directly within Visme.
Theme Colors lets you choose a color combination for your design, which is handy for maintaining brand consistency. My Files stores all the media content you’ve uploaded to Visme, serving as a repository of previously used assets. Apps allow you to insert assets from third-party tools and services. For example, you can embed a YouTube video by pasting its URL. Some apps require integration to use.
Lastly, Layout lets you update the layout of your current design or add one if you’re starting with a blank template.
5. Adding a new page
If you’re working on a design with multiple pages, you’ll see the “Add New Page” option on the right-hand side of the design tool. You can also find all the comments made by your team members in the same area.
6. Previewing and saving your work
When you’re satisfied with your design, just click the “Present” button to preview your entire work, including any animations you’ve added.
Next to the Present button, you’ll find the Share and Download buttons. Clicking Share lets you share your graphics as a link for social media posts, privately with specific people, or embed them on a website. You can also give your work a title and description to make it discoverable on search engines.
The Download button allows you to save your file locally in JPG, PDF, or PNG format. For videos, you can save your work as MP4 or GIF. If you’re working on a presentation, you can download it as PPTX or HTML5 instead.
7. Reviewing Visme analytics
Visme also offers an Analytics feature. It helps you track the progress of your work by showing you how many views your projects receive. Additionally, you can collect and export form results in CSV format.
